  • Sean J. Burgess

    Mr. Burgess has been serving medically for 16 years. Prior to co-founding Iaomai Medical Ministries in 2008, Mr. Burgess spent 5 years studying medical team development before assembling his 1st medical team. His professional career began in research where he spent a decade on projects ranging from point-of-care testing to molecular pathology. Mr. Burgess graduated from the University of California at Davis and completed post-graduate studies in the Sciences from the University of California at San Diego. Mr. Burgess has over 11 years of experience in strategic planning, product development, operations management and leading continuous improvement initiatives in the medical industry. “People are the passion, serving, volunteering and spreading the love of Jesus through medicine is the goal and mission, it’s such an honor being a part of what we do.”

  • Christopher Henninger, D.M.D.

    Dr. Henninger is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and the Medical University of South Carolina.  After completing his General Practice Residency at the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, Dr. Henninger served on active duty in the United States Navy as Dental Department Head aboard the USS Boxer and at Naval Medical Center San Diego.  While in dental school Dr. Henninger was a founding member of Dental Community Fellowship, an organization that utilizes short term dental missions to spread the word of God.  Dr. Henninger is very passionate about teaming up with other health care professionals to utilize our time, talents, resources, and medical skills to further God’s Kingdom. 

  • Pastor Levi Paul Guevara

    Pastor Levi graduated from Vanguard University (SCC) in 1987 with a degree in Pastoral Ministries. He came from a generation of Missionaries and Pastors whose focus was on reaching people for Christ. Levi has spent more than 35 years in church development, leadership training and volunteer recruitment with a focus on Women and Children’s Outreach. Since 2008, Levi has played an integral role in Iaomai Medical Ministries as an advisor and counsel to leadership. His hope is to empower volunteers so that together we can reach and impact families for Christ around the world. “Sharing God’s love unconditionally is the mission. What a privilege it is to serve Him however and wherever He may lead us.”

  • Cortney Eakin M.D.

    Dr. Eakin completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California at San Diego and graduated from Ross University School of Medicine. She joined Iaomai Medical Ministries in 2008 as project manager, serving an integral role in leadership and team development. It was here that her passion for medical outreach and women’s healthcare grew. She specializes in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is currently conducting research in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of California at Irvine. Her hope is that together we can have a worldwide impact in women’s healthcare. “Women have an incredible spirit that is so undeniable, so pure and so irreplaceable. There’s no greater job in the world than to have the privilege to serve them.”

  • Robert K. Beck M.D.

    Dr. Beck is a graduate of Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo and UAG School of Medicine. After completing his residency at Tufts Medical School Boston in Otolaryngology, he joined the medical missions field serving in Kenya, Honduras, Israel, and Guatemala. Dr. Beck was also a first responder in Katrina, treating and operating on the injured. In 2008, Dr. Beck joined Iaomai as Medical Director of Surgical Operations. Dr. Beck’s purpose is simple, to serve the Lord by organizing medical outreaches and performing surgical operations. “It’s such a joy to serve the Lord and see God work in amazing and unexpected ways. I learned to expect the unexpected.”

  • May L. Harris, J.D.
    | Founder

    May earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2000, and a Master of Arts in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from the University of San Diego in 2010. A co-founder of Iaomai, May has worked in the nonprofit sector for over a decade, and currently provides legal, leadership and management consulting services to exempt organizations throughout the region.

  • Brian C. Tucker, M.D.R.
    | Founder

    A graduate of Wheaton College and Pepperdine Law School, Mr. Tucker served as Vice President for Charles Schwab & Co. before founding Tucker Development Group and Punta Brava Golf & Ocean Club. Mr. Tucker has been heavily involved in missions to the underserved areas in Latin America since the early 90’s and holds a masters degree in Dispute Resolutions.

  • Paul Wagner, M.D., FACP FAAHPM
    | Founder

    A graduate of the University of California at San Diego School of Medicine and board certified in both Internal Medicine and in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Dr. Wagner has been practicing medicine for 21 years. He also holds a Masters degree in Theology and Ethics from Trinity Theological Seminary.
